10 Key things to do for your Anniversary

1) It is essential that this day is not forgotten. Update your Iphone with daily reminders that this day must not be forgotten, pencil it down on every sticky note available so that its noticeable even from a mile away, get your mum to add a reminder to the annoying voicemail message she leaves you everyday asking if you are eating ok and whether you are regularly changing your socks (although you left home 5 yrs ago) plus change your team name for your fantasy football team to Anniversary United.

2) Take your partner away for a romantic weekend. The Holiday Inn Reading M4 Jct10 is the perfect location for a romantic getaway for two. The hotel is a 4 star master piece, with luxury bedding and adorning decor; she is sure to be more than impressed.

3) Celebrate in the evening in the exquisite Caprice Restaurant and Terrace. Enjoy chilled champagne and Gourmet food served to Rosette standard. Then relax in Monty’s Lounge and Bar. This will certainly earn you extra brownie points for being the best boyfriend ever.

4) Book a number of pampering treatments at Esprit Fitness and Spa. This way she can feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Plus whilst she is enjoy having a relaxing facial or massage you can enjoy working out in the gym or better still treat yourself to a couples massage.

5) Spend the weekend doing exactly what she likes to do. The hotel is a 1-minute walk from the Winnersh Triangle Train Station and 6-minute train journey to Reading. Once there head to the Oracle shopping centre for a day of shopping. However be sure to you have enough credit available as you card is surely going to take a beating!!!

6) After a long day shopping, head back to the hotel to relax and unwind. It is at this point you must present the small Goldsmith bag that is perfectly wrapped and screams to others “look what my boyfriend bought me”.  Note that all good things come in small packages.

7) Enjoy a champagne breakfast in bed for two. The staff at the holiday Inn Reading M4 Jct10 will be more than happy to arrange this for you.

8) Spend Sunday afternoon wrapped up warm, walking around Beale Park. This is the perfect location to enjoy a long romantic walk. Note that although some of the animals at the park might look cute do not compare any of these with your partner! This will not go down well.

9) Before leaving the hotel enjoy afternoon tea in Monty’s lounge and bar Indulge yourself with     mouth-watering scones, elegant finger sandwiches, delicious homemade cakes and freshly brewed tea or coffee.

10) Say those all important 3 little words I love you (note not: what a goal!).
For all of this the winner for the best boyfriend/Husband award will go to you!

Family Weekend Break in Wokingham

Enjoy a family weekend away in Wokingham by staying at the 4 star Holiday Inn Reading M4 Jct10. This is a great hotel for all the family to enjoy along with being situated in the perfect location for many great family attractions.

Two must attractions are the theme park Legoland, which is a 10 minute drive from the hotel, and Windsor Castle, about 8 miles west of London Heathrow Airport and just 20 minutes drive from Holiday Inn Reading M4 Jct10. Where else could you one minute portray Indiana Jones in the Laser Raider, then the next become Johnny Depp and fight off numerous pirates.  Children are also able to obtain their very own driver’s license at Legoland. However you must remember that if you get pulled over by the police then this as an acceptable form of license.

For more educational attractions, then why not visit either Reading Museum or the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology. This is located on the University of Reading Campus and has the fourth largest collection of Greek ceramics in Britain. If that doesn’t excite the children, then the opportunity to see a mummified cat’s head is sure to interest them.

Now if your children spend too much time watching TV or playing on the computer and you are after them spending more time outdoors, then there are many Country parks that the whole family can enjoy. The first is Wellington Country Park which is set in Riseley, near Reading; this offers 350 acres of parkland, along with a 35 acre lake and adventure play area for the children to enjoy. The second is Beale Park which is situated on the banks of the river Thames; this re-opens on Saturday 11th February, which is in perfect time for the February half term break. Beale Park will also host the annual Beale Boat Show from 8th – 10th June. The third option is Dinton Pastures Country Park situated in Wokingham, which is an 8 minute drive from the Holiday Inn Reading M4 Jct10.  The park offers 4 different walks around the lakes and woods.

If you are looking for somewhere where the children can both enjoy themselves and be exhausted, in order for you to relax in the bar with a couple of drinks, then why not take the children to Bracknell’s ski slopes or their Olympic-sized Ice rink. I guarantee that after a full day skating, they will soon become the next Torvill and Dean. Another great attraction is Go Ape, in Bracknell. However this is not an attraction for people scared of heights as its involves: zip wiring through 30ft trees, crawling through tunnels and tackling high wire rope bridge. So basically your role is to play Tarzan for the day.

The hotel further benefits from complimentary underground parking for hotel residents and is a 1-minute walk from the Winnersh Triangle Train Station on the Reading to Waterloo line and a 6-minute train journey to Reading for the Reading to Paddington fast train (20-minutes) making it the ideal location for a Family Hotel Break in Berkshire.
